More than 70 HML employees manned the call-centre in Derry between 18.30 and 00.30 on 18 November, handling 1,854 calls and collecting £69,423 in donations and pledges for Children in Need.
A further £1011.60 was raised by employees during the day as people subjected themselves to leg and back waxing, organised a cake sale and participated in ‘I’m a Team Leader Get me Out Of Here’ and ‘Red or Black’.
HML’s director of operations, Mel Smith, said: “Derry has acted as a call-centre for Children in Need for four years now and it’s a great that we always have so many willing volunteers who are prepared to give up their time for a good cause.
“We’ve raised an incredible amount and thank you to everyone involved.”
