  • HML gets set for expansion into new markets in 2011

    Date posted: Feb 10 '11

Financial outsourcer HML has given a major boost to its expansion into the savings and loans markets with the appointment of respected industry figure Ian Cornelius.

Cornelius has joined HML as Director of Savings & Unsecured Lending and will be responsible for strategy and business development in these sectors. Most recently he was Director of Banking at Virgin Money and he has held senior roles at Bradford & Bingley and Capital One.

HML’s move will see it evolve into a uniquely positioned ‘one stop shop’ for the administration of savings and lending products. The firm already provides outsourced mortgage administration services to over 30 UK & Irish financial institutions and has over £40bn assets under management.

Neil Warman, Chief Commercial & Finance Officer at HML, says: “Expanding into these new markets is central to HML’s strategy. We recognise we need to invest in our capability in order to succeed and I am delighted to welcome Ian to the team. He offers great experience across the financial services industry and has outstanding credentials to help us to develop our offering.”

Ian Cornelius, Director of Savings & Unsecured Lending at HML, says: “I’m excited to join HML at this pivotal point in its evolution, and to be able to take on a role that offers so much opportunity. As an established outsourced service provider, the firm can demonstrate the credibility and stability to launch into these new markets with confidence. I am very optimistic about what the future holds and I am looking forward to helping HML broaden its presence in the UK financial services sector.”

HML’s expansion into savings and unsecured lending is backed up by the firm’s proven operational and servicing capability. It is the highest rated mortgage servicer in the UK and in 2010 became the only UK servicer ever to receive a double upgrade from Fitch Ratings, which was awarded in relation to its special servicing.
