Andrew Jones - Chief Executive

Before taking over as CEO in October 2011, Andrew was Chief Operations Officer responsible for all aspects of operations and IT. Andrew has extensive experience of delivering large-scale business change across financial services and automotive retailing.  Following the completion of an MBA, Andrew joined Accenture, initially leading a number of IT enabled change programmes in the automotive industry before moving into financial services (insurance and banking) in the late 90s.

Before joining HML in 2007, Andrew spent 6 years rebuilding National Australia Bank’s UK Insurance business driving a threefold increase in income and a significant reduction in cost. He has since lead the delivery of IT and business change, as well as the client on-boarding activities central to HML’s success as a market leader in financial outsourcing.
 

jonathan pattison

Jonathan Pattinson - Interim Chief Finance Officer

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, Jonathan joined Northern Rock where he held various roles including Director of Compliance and latterly Managing Director (Internal Audit).

Before becoming CFO, Jonathan was HML's Chief Risk & HR Officer. His 18 years of financial services experience was invaluable in restructuring and transforming the capability of HML’s Risk and Compliance functions, which included the delivery of an Enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework and the ISO and BSI accreditations of the Information Security and Business Continuity functions.

Ian Cornelius - Commercial Director

Ian has a respected, in-depth knowledge of the UK retail financial services market gained by working for established and start-up banks to define and deliver successful customer and product strategies.

Ian joined HML in January 2011 after 12 years working in a number of senior positions in the industry including Director of Banking for Virgin Money. Ian had P&L responsibility for Bradford & Bingley’s retail products during his time as Director of Retail Products and managed all aspects of the UK retail savings business for Capital One Bank as Head of Retail Savings.

James Parker - Client Relations Director

As Client Relations Director James has overall responsibility for HML's 50 clients. He has been with HML since 1992 and held a wide variety of roles spanning the breadth of HML's operations.

Having started his career in credit management he proceeded to work in IT, securities management, residential and commercial mortgage administration and new lending. He has worked in the Client Relations team for the last 10 years and been a Director for 2 years.
 

mel smith

Mel Smith - Interim Operations Director

Mel has over 20 years customer services experience in bespoke and mass markets developing and managing telephony infrastructure and teams to meet the demands of the consumer.

Mel’s 12 year financial services / outsourcing experience has seen him develop a multi-site customer contact strategy for a major UK insurer and lead teams across remote locations to deliver a common set of customer centric and performance oriented goals. He has been with HML for 5 years.

Kim Brien - IT and Automation Director

An IT professional of 26 years, Kim has a long established and impressive bank of knowledge and experience.  Since joining HML 6 years ago, he has been pivotal in redefining HML’s platforms and ensuring HML maintains market leading functionality around automation and Agile IT.

With a degree in law from Lancaster University and an MSc in IT and Management from Sheffield Hallam, Kim has secured a number of senior roles in the IT industry, including Director of IT and Logistics at MDA and IT and Customer Services Director at Armature.

Neil Cartwright - Director of Change

In the 7 years Neil has been at HML, his market knowledge has seen him occupy a number of senior management positions including, Portfolio Director – Irish Operations, Director of Knowledge Management and Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Neil has been working in the financial services industry for 28 years. Before joining HML he was Head of New Lending at Bradford & Bingley and Head of Lending and Programme Manager Strategy at Scarborough Building Society.  Neil is currently taking a Masters equivalent NOA Diploma in Outsourcing.
